Dear Friends,
Football season has ended for one of my grandsons, Bryce. He had a good year. He got to carry the ball, which I told you was his big goal. His job was to carry the ball up the center and plow through the defensive line. He made 4-5 yards every time he carried the ball, so he did his job. He is one of the larger boys and quite strong so that helps. He really seemed to enjoy football.
Jonah has one more game. He plays defensive linebacker or safety. I think in some ways he has a harder job because he has to stay back (which is very hard) until he sees where the play is going and then be in the right spot if the runner gets through the defensive line. Jonah is smart and a fast runner so he made some important plays. He had a good season, but I’m not sure that football is his favorite sport.
The clutch on my husband’s “new” combine wore out just as it started to rain last Thursday. He was glad it broke down on a rainy day so he didn’t miss a good day of combining.
