Family Traditions

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Dear Friends,

The Holiday season is a great time for getting together with family. Ann, her sons, my husband and I are flying to Minneapolis for the weeked to see my sister and her family. She has two grandsons who are 3 and 5 and are great fun! Ann’s boys always have so much fun with them. Of course the little boys worship their older cousins. The whole family always meets us at the airport and then we all go to brunch at IHOP which is next to the Mall of America. Then we have to stop at the Mall of America to see the decorations. On Sunday we all go to church and then have our Christmas dinner at my sister’s. It is great to have these traditions.

And, speaking of traditions, start your own with “The Christmas Pickle”. Here’s a short story about the Christmas pickle:

The night before Christmas
it’s hung on the tree.
While everyone’s sleeping
it’s done secretly.

And on Christmas morning
when you arise,
The first one to find it
will get a surprise.

Stop in at either location (now through December 24th) and mention my blog to get your own Christmas Pickle to hide on your tree. It’s my gift to you. Happy Holidays!
