Some Helpful Tips

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Dear Friends,

I thought I would share some tips with you…

- Cut thread from the spool at an angle for easier threading.

- Avoid the temptation to lick the thread end. Many threads will swell when in contact with moisture and licking actually makes the needle harder to thread.

- Use the thread end that comes off the spool for threading a needle. It helps prevent kinking and knotting while doing handwork.

- After using a seam ripper to break every third or forth thread, apply a strip of tape to the loose threads. Run your finger or thumb over the tape as if finger pressing. Pull the tape up. All the thread ends are pulled up with the tape.
