John Deer was Here

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Dear Friends,

We had a great time at the John Deer Seminar. John and Debi are great fun and give us lots of information about embroidery too.

Ann and I are excited about traveling to Spring Quilt Market in Minneapolis this week. We’re looking forward to seeing all the new and exciting  products at the show. We will be ordering more fabric and tracking down the newest books, patterns and notions.

Spring Is Here

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Dear Friends,

Spring is here, so we have finished basketball and started track and baseball. Our grandson Jonah (8th grade at East Lansing) decided to try track for the first time. At his first track meet Wednesday night, he won the short hurdles and placed 4th in shot put. I always thought he could run fast. He is tall (5′ 10″) so the hurdles aren’t that high for him. He hasn’t had any baseball games yet. They start next week.

Ann’s other son, Bryce, had his first baseball game of the season. His team won by 10 runs. Bryce played well at first base.

Our grandson Mitchell plays soccer. He is the team’s goal tender. Last week his team had a shut out game against a team that hadn’t lost all winter or spring. He is 8 and plays in Rochester on a 10 year-old travel team. I just bought a book on soccer so I would understand what is going on. He seems to love soccer, so I guess this grandma better learn about it.
