Marianne Fons was Here

Monday, November 15th, 2010

Dear Friends,

Last Saturday (November 13th) Marianne Fons of Fons and Porter was at our East Lansing store. She presented “American Quilters Through The Years”. It was an informative and very interesting presentation about American quilters. She told us that women in the United States have always quilted. In the 1940′s quilting slowed down but it picked back up for the Centennial in 1976.

Everyone seemed to enjoy her presentation and we enjoyed having her here.

Cotton Theory Quilting with Betty Cotton

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010

Dear Friends,

“Quilt First – Then Assemble” is Betty Cotton’s motto of Cotton Theory Quilting and she has been in our East Lansing store for the last two days teaching it. Betty will also be teaching two classes at our Jackson store Thursday and Friday.

On Tuesday students learned how to create a “Textured Tote” and today they are all making the “Thistle Table Runner”.

Everyone is having a great time and learning a lot.
